So happy that you found me!
Just getting started so please check back in often as new content and information will be added.
So why did I decide to start this blog? Two years ago at my doctor informed me my glucose and A1C
were high and if I was unable to bring those numbers down within 6 months, that she would need to
consider medication... and let be be the first to say... I WAS HAVING NONE OF THAT! I needed a plan
quick and so it began...
The first thing I decided was I needed to change my diet. I didn’t think that I had a lot of sugar in my diet, but all those milligrams added up and once again, I determined that yes I had too much sugar in my diet and needed to make some changes. I started writing down every single thing I ate when I ate it and how much sugar was involved. Now you have to consider it’s just not the sugar you need to think about every carbohydrate that you put into your body And if I’m like anyone, I live for Carbs. And it was CRAZY just how bad things were that I never truly realized… until that moment
I then looked at everything I was eating, broke it all down and had to make the decision of how I was going to change my eating habits in order to reduce my sugar numbers. I did not want to go on medication so I needed to do this naturally and after a lot of research, google searches and books, blogs and podcasts, I realized that these changes needed to come from both diet and exercise. Being 59 at the time and working a full-time job I had to work that exercise into my day and I found out that just 30 minutes of walking every day was exactly what the doctor ordered… LITERALLY!
With the path ahead of me somewhat established and with all the new knowledge bouncing around in my carb-restricted brain, I set forth on my new, sugar-free (or at least sugar-reduced) lifestyle. It's been a struggle, but I have to say I have loved most every minute of the ride… but it’s far from over so please stay with me for this journey and learn and share together to help me help all of you to live the sweet life and stay sugar-free…
See you all soon!
